The large five story brick and cinder block building that takes up the corner lot was converted to a retirement housing complex, The Aging Oaks, 15 years ago right after the adult diaper factory closed up. (Insert joke here, I know!) The small mirror image store that shares our brick wall recently changed hands. Much to the surprise and pleasure of the senior population an S&M store went in. Slow Pleasures caters to a more advanced age crowd. Gloria Hallaworth, the owner, is a 50ish single woman who on a daily basis wears more leather than can be found grazing on some of the farms near where I grew up.
